Emission Systems
Newer technology vehicles produce far less emissions than their predecessors. This is accomplished through the use of Catalytic Converters and Oxygen Sensors. The converter removes harmful gasses from the exhaust stream and converts them into water vapor and less harmful gases. The Oxygen sensors monitor oxygen in the exhaust system and transmits information to the engine control computer. The computer in turn adjusts the fuel air mixture to provide optimum efficiency which also effects fuel mileage and performance. Atlas has state-of-the-art equipment to diagnose O2 sensor and catalytic converter problems.
